Born and raised in Haiti, Tessa has always had a passion for helping others. Tessa moved to the United States in 2001 and since has worked for the South Florida Haitian and homeless community in her capacity as Program Director with Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami, before joining FLIC to now advocate for them. She graduated from Barry University with her Bachelor’s in Organizational Leadership. Tessa started her tenure with the Florida Immigrant Coalition as Director of Finance and Operations in 2016. In her spare time, Tessa enjoys reading, the beach, and learning about agribusiness. She dreams of returning to her homeland to develop sustainable farm-based communities in the countryside that can be a safe haven for women and children.
