FRIENDS OF BROWARD DETAINEES

Friends of Broward Detainees - Nov 2014

Through this initiative, FOBD hopes to:

  • Connect with the more than 700 individuals who are mandatorily detained and confined away from their families and communities in the Broward Transitional Center (BTC) in Pompano Beach  and give them a space for human and compassionate contact
  • Create opportunities for accountability through civilian oversight in a facility that is owned, operated and audited by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

We need your help to launch this amazing initiative off the ground. Once the visitation program is approved, we will need volunteers that are willing and able to visit detainees on weekdays and weekends.

Interested participants can fill this form. This will enable us to keep you in our system and contact you as we receive more information.

If you are interested in launching a visitation program in your area, send us an email! We can connect you to our partners at CIVIC and others.
