WHAT: State of Our Union Press Conference
WHEN: Feb. 5, 2019 at 7:00 pm
WHERE: The Florida Immigrant Coalition, 2800 Biscayne Blvd., Suite 200, Miami, FL 33137

(FLORIDA)Community and business leaders and immigrant advocates will come together to discuss the State of Our Union. After the longest running government shutdown in history, Trump was forced to cave and reopen the government. The current government spending bill expires on Feb. 15th, and Congress still must to an agreement.

The following is a statement from Maria Rodriguez, Executive Director of FLIC:

“We need to include both DACA and TPS holders in legislation to stop the threat of deportation with a PERMANENT solution. Democrats and Republicans can do more, and we expect them to show leadership. We’ve had enough of this facade and blockage of real, permanent solutions for our immigrant families, coworkers, and friends.”
